Kathy McDonald and Beau

Kathy McDonald and one of her beloved dogs, Beau. She is VP of the Wyoming Basset Hound Rescue (a non-profit Statewide rescue organization) and has worked with other rescue organizations for over 10 years. Now as a newly appointed Director for the Homeless Hearts Foundation, she helps to solicit funding for the Park County Humane Society and the new Loving Hearts Animal Sanctuary located in Cody. Rehabilitating and 'rehoming' unwanted, abandoned and abused animals is Kathy's passion.

Kathy McDonald relocated from Texas to Cody in 1994. As a small business owner she became very active in the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce, serving as Board member from 1998-2003, Chamber President in 2001, and was Cody's "Ambassador of the Year" in 2004.

Kathy started in real estate in 1998 and managed residential and commercial listings. Her love and knowledge of this area and "being from someplace else" enables her to help those relocating to the area "find what they are looking for."

As a member of Cody Economic Development Council from 1998-2003, she has a special insight into the growth and needs of the community.

She joined American West Realty in the Spring of 2004. "Kay and I have worked together for many years to serve our community. We feel our skills and expertise in different areas are a great match to better accommodate the needs of our clients. It was with Kay's encouragement that I became Secretary of the Park County Board of REALTORS in 2003, and in 2007 I took the Board position of MLS Chair."
