I was born and raised in Cody, Wyoming and lived here until I graduated from Cody High School. I moved to Denver and worked there until I moved to Crested Butte, Colorado - a tiny ski town just 24 miles south of Aspen as the crow flies. I lived in Crested Butte until I moved back to Cody in May, 1994.

While in Crested Butte, I served on the board of the Gunnison County Electric Association, an electric cooperative for 17 years. Part of that time I was President. I also served on Western United Electric Association, an electric supply coop, for eight years and was the first woman President of that organization. I served as the first woman on Colorado Ute Generation and Transmission, a $4 billion dollar company.

I served on the board of the Crested Butte State Bank for 14 years until I decided to return to Cody.

Since moving to Cody, I have joined Rotary and have served on the Board of Directors of Sunlight Federal Credit Union and am currently on the Advisory Committee.

WORK HISTORY:

When I moved to Denver, I went to work for Mountain Bell and then for Shell Oil Company. After I moved to Crested Butte, I worked for the Superintendent of Schools for several years until he transferred to a larger school district. I then began working at the Crested Butte Lodge as reservationist and bookkeeper.

Somehow, out of that I started Alpine Chalet Rentals, a property management company, with 13 ski area homes. I built that company up until we managed approximately 185 rental homes and condominiums and 13 different condominium associations.

I got my Real Estate Salesman license in 1974 and my Brokers License in 1976 and sold property along with the management. In 1992, I also started a division which booked activities such as snowmobiling, rafting, horseback riding, jeep tours, hot-air balloons, walking and biking tours. I sold the property management company to the Crested Butte Ski Area and the booking company to a partner.

I began working for CENTURY 21 Cody Realty, Inc. in July , 1994 as Office Manager. I got my Wyoming Broker's license in January, 1995 and since that time have been working at selling real estate and managing property. I moved to Homestead Realty, LC. in May, 1995 and then started my own company, American West Realty and Management, in May, 1998.
